To develop reliable stanines, we require a certain volume of data from PATs across several criteria, including equity index groupings and whether a test was static or adaptive.
In Term 1 2024, we did not get enough data for some of these EQI groupings or test formats to produce suitable norms and stanines. We have seen an increase in PAT use over the year, and are hopeful that Term 1, 2025 will give us enough data for stanines to be available for Year 11. An exact release date will depend on the number, distribution and assessment dates of PATs next year.
We understand the frustration with not having this information available, but it is critically important that we provide benchmarks that are as robust and reliable as possible - and this can take some time when we develop a new test.
