The STAR List Report contains a wealth of information allowing teachers to quickly drill down into reading components or cohorts of students that require specific reading skills.

The List Report is the navigator and the features can be used to quickly identify areas of need and/or students of need.

Suggested ways to use the LIST REPORT:

  • Order the scale score column to quickly identify students well above or below - did they sit the correct test at their actual level of the curriculum? If not, be careful reading their individual reports as they may not be accurate. (Choosing the appropriate test)
  • Order each sub-test column to find students struggling with that reading component - NB: different students may struggle with different components - group for teaching needs accordingly.
  • Use the FILTERS for inquiry cohorts  (male, female, ethnicity, year level). Look across individual student scores to identify patterns or trends that exist among them i.e. vocabulary scores are high but comprehension is low = critical thinking skills and group students accordingly
  • CLICK on any students's name to see their individual report and view Critical and Typical score ranges
  • With the information you have gathered, move to the Sub-test report to deepen the analysis.
